Gen Z is More Diverse Than Previous Generations

Gen Z represents about 69 million Americans with unprecedented diversity.
Only about half identify as non-Hispanic white, with Latinos making up nearly a quarter of this generation.
Additionally, 41 million Gen Zers were eligible voters in 2024, and most believe education is key to improving children's lives.
For innovators, this diversity creates opportunities to develop culturally responsive learning tools that reflect Gen Z's experiences and leverage their belief in education as a change agent.
The Private Sector Opportunity in Student Lending

The Education Department is the biggest student lender, with $1.47 trillion in outstanding loans from 38.2 million borrowers.
Private lenders and fintech companies may be able to offer new lending models and repayment solutions.
Organizations that can create more affordable pathways to higher education, especially for people who depend on federal aid, are likely to find a market that’s hungry for alternatives to traditional student loans.
The Great Teacher Exodus Is Slowing Down

Teacher turnover has dropped to 7% in the 2023-2024 school year, continuing its downward trend from the post-pandemic peak of 10%. While this improvement is promising, the rate is still above the pre-pandemic level of 6%.
With more teachers and principals staying put, there's a window of opportunity to focus on quality improvements rather than just filling positions. Organizations that help schools fill positions and keep their best people happy will find eager partners in districts nationwide.
