White House Doubles Down on AI in Schools

President Trump just signed an executive order creating a White House AI education task force to coordinate federal efforts on artificial intelligence in K-12 schools. The multi-agency task force will include the leaders of the education, agriculture, labor, and energy departments, along with other federal representatives.
The initiative aims to promote AI literacy by integrating AI into K-12 education, providing comprehensive teacher training, and developing early exposure to AI concepts to create an "AI-ready workforce and the next generation of American AI innovators."
The federal focus on AI in schools offers an opportunity for education innovators to find creative ways to integrate AI into the American school system.
Math Anxiety: The Invisible Barrier

Math educator Brian Dean from UnboundEd has stated that he’s hearing students say, "I'm not a math person” - a crushing statement that can create the false belief that math ability cannot change through practice.
Smart educators, though, are redefining what "being good at math" means. It’s not about memorization, but rather, it’s about asking good questions and thinking critically to solve problems.
Organizations that help schools move beyond "some kids are math people, some aren't" thinking will find eager partners in schools struggling with math performance gaps.
Cinco de Mayo and Teaching Cultural Literacy Through Celebration

Schools across America are celebrating Cinco de Mayo with vibrant activities that go beyond surface-level recognition.
While the holiday commemorates Mexico's victory at the Battle of Puebla in 1862 (not Mexican Independence Day, as many believe), it's become a bigger celebration in the US than in most of Mexico itself.
Smart educators are using the celebratory fun as a way to help students learn more about history, social studies, languages, and different cultures.
